If driving by fireworks, make sure all the windows are rolled up! I'd be fuming mad if this happened to me though, more so than you probably, because my left eye is the only good one I have. If it gets damaged, I am screwed. That is amazing the minimal damage you seem to have to your eye compared to the damage to the eyeglasses. Were these polycarbonate lenses or just standard plastic? I personally think you should at least pursue the matter in civil court, if it's not too much trouble for you, if for no other reason than to teach the parents and kids a little responsibility. Yes, your actual damage may be minimal, but that doesn't make the kids' actions any less inappropriate, and the next guy a few days or years from now may not be so fortunate. I used to set off all manner of fireworks every 4th of July with my brother and cousin, and looking back now, it seems amazing that we didn't do any permanent damage to ourselves or anything else. But, we also never lit them on a public street.
