Drew, I give no merit to your snowball analogy. Fireworks are inherently dangerous, pretty much illegal in most of the US for some very good reasons. The damage caused by fireworks is not confined to the users but often to innocent victims who happen to be in the "wrong place at the wrong time". Damage caused to people by fireworks are not freak occurances - go hang out in a large ER next Monday evening for proof of this.
Snowballs are a nuisance, but not inherently dangerous except in complete freak occurances.
I have to agree with some of the other posters who are advocating some public or private cause of action that will lead to restitution for your damages as well public service for these people - a wakeup call. And I'm not even contemplating the pain and suffering of burns around your eye.
