Hindsight being 20/20, you bet I'd have stopped instead of going over/around it. The difference between me and the kids being time to react/plan accordingly. I had about 2 seconds to process, what the hell is that? Turn/go over/stop. Not detecting a real threat, I chose go around. Seemed easiest at the time. A reasonable man (kid) would not plan to put an explosive in the road with traffic. Their timeframe for decision being infinite. I personally take no fault for making a decision based on an incomplete dataset. A court might see differently, but of course I'm biased.
An interesting question to be sure though. I'm honored to have sparked such debate. Hope everyone's still cool.
