They make it sound quite practical but I have no idea how much it has been tested + proven. The whole point of it was to dispel the idea of "EV's being golfcarts" as you put it. I suppose I call it an EV, but truly it is a hybrid, as you and I both agree that that is more practical especially here in north america where the distances are often long. As you say, for many in highly urban areas (especially in places like india + china), golf cart like vehicles do make quite a bit of sense. I do hope that is not what NEVS plans to turn Saab into however! I hope they make something closer to the Mini (though not so over the top obviously), or the Volvo below (as a 9-1)... and a proper 9-3 for those of us who need to drive more than 2 people + a case of beer...
