Basically everything was gone over or replaced on the engine minus the hard bits, like the pasenger side mounting hardware that connects to the top of the trans and the bottom of the head or the turbo support that connects to the bottom of the trans and bottom of the turbo and header union. I touched every part of that engine while I was rebuilding it. the right side has a fluid mount, and the left side has a sold mount. I have run previous saabs with this motor mount config in the past with no issue. Basically, the fluid mount on the drivers side is so huge and hard to get at and blocks so many other things, that I've opted in previous builds to use the solid mount there and up front. I have not sourced the sold mount hardware for the passenger side, so just run the easily replacable fluid mount over there.
I just looked underneath again and found that the space between the frame/body and the outside edge of the drivers side driver cup is a snug index finger width, and I have normally sized fingers. That seems normal to me. I'm still perplexed about this. And looking at the rubber seal for the shifter shaft, it is not pulled too far right, as I thought.
IM absolutely flummoxed by this! And today was supposed to be the big front end alignment and test drive day! :-(
