New Video showing "shortness" Posted by freecirc [Email] (#3243) [Profile/Gallery] (more from freecirc) on Sun, 15 Jan 2023 09:07:31 In Reply to: Re: Back to Square one. Hey Goblin,
I do very much appreciate your curiosity in this. It is vexing!
Here is a new video showing the actual protrusion of the tripod from the inner driver cup. This is using the reman axle that is the same length as my OE axle (longest).
I am noting here that yes, is is not protruding as much as I mentioned earlier, but still... It's an uncomfortable amount to me. It cant be normal for the tripod to be protruding this much! I dont want it to pop out again and them completely wreck my inner driver and more of the body metal :-O
In the vid, note the spacer tool keeping the upper a-arm up and lowering spring compressed, changing the point at which the trpod bearing sits, and the damage to the inner frame rail body metal near the driver cup that happenned when the tripod popped out. Also note the edge of the cup itself was scraped up in this process but I think it is still quite serviceable.
