For those that are interested:
I ran my car for several months and also took a lengthy 1500 mile road trip to the coast and back in April with .5" of washers inbetween the outer CV-joint and my hub to make up for the lack of tripod bearing depth in the inner driver cup on the driver's side of my car. It was a bit of a risky move, but my CV shaft nut did not come off, and no splines were damaged during this time.
After that, I drove it very spiritedly for another month and then had a custom half shaft built for me by a local machinist using 4140 steel cut to be .5" longer to make the tripod seat fully in the inner driver sans the washer-spacers used in the interim.
-Just wanted y'all to know the outcome of all of this!
Peace, and SAAB On!
