Hey Goblin...
The Spacer inbetween the body and the upper control arm... Well, I never thought to remove that guy, but with it in place It lifts the hub closer to what it would be with the car on the ground, i guess, than without. I'm guessing that the tripod might go in another 1-2 mm with it removed. But once the car is on the ground, it would pull out again.
From what I understand of your comment about the 9mm in...
That the tripod bearing goes into the cup and there is a 9mm measuring between the outer most part of the tripod and the edge of the driver cup - meaning that in that scenario, the tripo is firmly stationed on the driver cup races - mor or less in the middle of the cup where it is supposed to be. Is that right?
In the case of the vid I sent, the tripod may be on the race surfaces, but just barely, and that is scary.
Yea, I had thought of the ball joints too, but they are all new, all the same 4 purchased at the same time, and I had measured thier protrusin from the uppper and lower control arms and then compared that with my friend's 1990 900S, and the measurements are the same.
I cant shake the feeling that somehow, somehow (???) my engine is sitting in the engine bay 5/8 shifted toward the passenger side even though it seems to be perfect right where it is.
