I'll count myself as a Saab owner who would buy an AWD 9-5 or 9-3 wagon/hatch, but never an SUV (whether made by SAAB or anybody else.
I loved my 900 for its driving manners and it's versatility for carrying large cargo. When I replaced the 900 last year, the four things needed were: Safety, AWD, Cargo capacity, and a sporty, involving drive. I would have bought an AWD 9-3 or 9-5 in a heartbeat, but since none was offered I we got an AWD Volvo V70R.
If I were to get an SUV, no domestic brands would be on my shopping list; their architecture and big heavy motors suck. The new 9-7x is included in that category- it wouldn't be a consideration.
