Quite a posting! Having grown up in farm country, I learned to drive farnm equipment with very manual gearboxes. No synchros, foot clutch and hand clutch. Naturally choose manual transmissions for my drivers. Now that I have reached retirement age, do enjoy the comforts of the auto. Driving on curving and hilly roads with the auto can make you more aware of what your engine is doing. You do have to keep an eye on the tach and know what the turbo is doing and what it can do. In other words, you have to understand your car and its capabilities.Good arguments can be made for both transmissions, even the old autos in the 900s.
