I used to carpool to work with a guy who worked his way through engineering school as a taxi driver and still drove that way - basically semi-legal stunt driving on city streets; his car was a 1978 SAAB 99. I thought that if it was able to hold up to his abuse it seemed like a good choice for me.

I found a 1983 900S that was coming off lease, had some complications that the lessee didn't want to deal with, so I bought it from him in February 1986 - and have been driving SAABs since.
