Rogues are reknowned for having transmission problems and that information is readily available. They might drive okay but why buy one?
You can lease dozens of perfectly nice cars (incliding a Honda Civic) for $225 (or less) a month. Yeah I know, you "can't afford a car payment." That's $2700 a year for a car that all you have to do is put gas in it and change the oil occassionally. Add up everything you've spent on this mess over what ever time frame it played out and I can gaurentee $225 a month is a bargain. You aren't saving money doing this and you certainy aren't getting relibale transportation, which it sounds like you need. Part of the problem is that car repair costs have gone through the roof. An oil change costs $75 on my Honda--hell it's $50 even if I do it myself. Cars are so complicated with all the computerize stuff that the days of wrenching them in your drive way are fading away (did it myself for many years). Second, manaufacturers are cutting corners on everything you can't see, even late model Toyotas are having mecahnical horror stories.
You have to look at what you are actually spending. And what is the value of not having to worry about getting stranded, and dealing with sleazy car dealers and coughing up the money for a big repair on a car that has one foot in the grave? Even it cost a little more (and it won't) wouldn't it be worth something to drive a nice new car?
