and exactly what I'm suggesting. In fact, I might think about it myself. My CRV is 7 years old and only has 57,000 miles but it's slowly starting need more and more. I just spent $700 on tires. I will need a radiator flush at the next oil change and brake fluid change. It's kind of in a sweet spot right now in terms of value--I could retail it for about $7K less than the original sticker, bank the money or invest it. Then lease whatever I can find at a deal. I'd like to try an EV too, but there's no way I'd buy one. But I'd lease one though. There's some wrinkles to leasing but I've never had a problem. But I always bought them after the lease, which may not be so good. Churn 'em and burn 'em might be better stategy.
