I'm in Maine, and I'm also old, and like my Tesla (like Scott, I don't love Elon). I also have a solar array to contribute to charging. Yes the car loses range in very cold weather, and my panels are covered now, but those are fairly small factors on a year-round basis. There are environmental trade-offs with everything, but overall I prefer my setup to discharging out of my tailpipe and supporting oil-drilling. I also like no time in gas stations and virtually no maintenance. I'm hopeful battery storage and recyclability will improve. Each to their own.
