There's more to leasing than just the monthly payment. $225/month plus how much down and turn the car in after two years and make sure you drive it only 10,000 miles per year, must be in decent shape upon return or there are possibly other fees. There are plenty of people who refuse to lease a car just for this whole idea. My Niro is the first car I ever leased only because I got a good deal and wanted to try an EV with my 9kWh of solar panels. Saab's cheapest lease ever in their history was $199/month. There are many posts elsewhere on the site that give the argument against leasing because it's a better money-value to buy a car over a longer period and just maintain it. Saab owners are pretty way up there in maintaining their cars compared to other car owner groups. Of course, there are also many arguments posted on the site to never buy new because of the depreciation the moment you drive it off the lot, but I understand why people like to buy a new car too.

No worries, it's just a discussion. There are many different levels of car ownership on the site.
