interesting I used Mobile 1 for 10 years in my modified 88 9000 (big turbo high boost), and the previous owner used it since new when he bought it in Germany 335K KM and hte bearings were down to the copper...but it was a very abused engine for years. I threw new bearings in and good as new, no wear step in the cylinder (hoing marks still there). I decided to try Redline, and what they say is true...10W40 Reline maintains at LEAST 5-10psi higher oil pressure under all operating conditions at 200F than Mobil1 15W50 (30psi at idle over 200F) Ester oil has some different properties....but interesting nonetheless. There is a reason we use ester synthetics in turbines;-)
