The Credit Card statement may say you are only responsible for the first $50. There may even be a Federal Law stipulating that amount.

But trust me on this one. If you are a victim of Credit Card fraud the card company will side with the retailer rather than you (remember who pays them the 5% on every purchase) and expect you to pay the full amount due.

My life would have been a lot simpler if the luxury department store in South Miami had demanded to see photo ID when some low life used my credit card numbers to buy a $1000 large screen TV and a $1000 fur coat on two separate transactions within 5 minutes.

p.s. - Never stay at the Crown Plaza Hotel on LaJeune Rd in Coral Gables FL. Besides the drug deals being transacted in the lobby, the hotel is well known locally as a place which steals and sells credit card numbers.
