By insisting that the merchant accept your credit card without ID is pushing the limits of prudent credit card transactions by the merchant.
By insisting a merchant accept your signed credit card without additional ID you are pushing your rights to the limit.
Your being pushy to enforce your right to privacy makes credit card fraud easier to perpetrate on all of us. So I personally think your being pushy about your obscure credit card rights may not be for the greater good, but you're probably thinking that's how rights become eroded.
I think if you're gonna' push your rights it should be for something worthwhile like peace, or world hunger, and not some obscure credit card right granted in the fine print. That'sa lotta' negative Karma and righta pushing just to pay for a pancake.....save your mojo for a better cause.
I'm one of those that signs all my credit cards "Ask for ID" or I use my AX with my picture on it.
