You are missing a key point of my argument, an ID is not required for a credit card sale when the card is signed. Look at page 34 of the VISA merchant agreement - it clears states that a merchant can ask for ID but CANNOT make it a condition of sale. In all honesty, your credit card should never be accepted anywhere because you have not signed it. Writing See ID on it really doesn't make it any more secure. How many times do they actually check? And writing See ID doesn't magically make them or you less liable for any fraud. This is actually one of the big myths in credit cards. Google "credit card see ID" and you will find out.
