Prius Plug-in Hybrid is not "the Prius"

Prius PHV uses an entirely different battery technology from "the Prius." Its Lithium-Ion battery pack is less than 1/3 the size of the one in Volt, but adds $10k price premium over "the Prius." Prius PHV Advanced is obviously even further off the track on the value equation, probably because Toyota is trying to break even or make a profit unlike GovernmentMotors dragooning taxpayers into paying for more than half the production cost of the car even in the Volt's MSRP. In the lease deals on Volt (where most consumers are actually paying), the taxpayers are paying 80+% of the cost of production, as the lease monthly payment is about 40% or less of what a normal $40k car should be costing. In other words, the GovernmentMotors is receiving revenue amounting to less than 20% of the production cost. Welcome to Lada and the USSA.
