Even as unit count decline 3%, the revenue must be much higher as the RDX and especially MDX have much higher per unit revenue than the RSX, TSX and TL.

I do agree that Acura is packing a lot into the new TLX, and under-pricing significant compared to competition, especially at the high end. It would not surprise me at all if they raise TLX price after the first model year, unless they just want to goose volume, like the 2004 TL did. The August TLX sales number is impressive, especially given that the V6 and AWD models were not available for sale until the latter parts of August.

I think it will be great if they drop the ILX altogether (leave the segment to a better trimmed Civic Si), then rely on TSX, RDX and MDX for the bulk of their sales, with a few sport hybrid AWD RLX and NSX tossed in for good measure and halo effect. With MDX and RDX accounting for 70% of unit count, Acura per unit price must already be approaching that of BMW and Lexus, where sales leaders are 3 series, X1, ES and RX. Acura will do well with delivering better value at higher price points of the market.
