Would you feel the same way if the stated horsepower were off? What if the brakes were not of the stated size? Why is payload any different?
The argument of perhaps not being able to change the vehicle doesn't exonerate Saab.
It states the payload right on the door jamb. Apparently, for the next car I buy am not to trust the specs and have to take the demo to Home Depot to load it up and verify that some engineer somewhere didn't screw things up.
My needs are exactly the same as when I bought the car. Transport me and occasionally others up to 4 people total and some basic luggage, some times big box store items, occasional road trips with the same up to 4 people total and some basic luggage, etc. I don't think any of this is at all unreasonable or requires a cross over.
I tried to pull up the specs for the other European wagons, but not much is online in regard to payload. It looks like some have significantly higher payload ratings. Of course I would have to test these ratings.
