Maybe I'm late to the party but where are the thousand other 9-5 owners that have this same issues? I would think that upon reading your thread(s) that there would be many, many, many more 9-5 owners claiming the exact same problem. That assumes that this is a common issue to the 9-5. Correct me if I'm wrong, but where are all the other 9-5 owners that have loaded their car with four people and luggage and had their car fail. There are several Saab forums, and several 9-5 cars out on the road; why is this the first I'm hearing of this issue?
Is there any record of this problem with the NHSTA, Consumer Reports, and any other data gathering establishment? Even Saab themselves should have a TSB if this is so common to assist technicians on the most effective way of resolving the issue.
I'm guessing this is not a 9-5 issue, but rather an issue with your car. Either it has been wrecked prior to your ownership (unlikely) or _unintentionally_ overloaded at one point resulting is some permanent, unrepairable damage.
But as other have noted, a lawsuit will likely not result in any resolution. Instead, it's going to result in taking a lot of your time and money and simply increase the aggravation in your life. Sometimes, it's best to simply move on. Then again, maybe you enjoy the back and forth banter with Saab representatives and feel it is your mission to expose this massive design conspiracy (that very few people have experienced). Maybe you'll be the one persistent customer that will crack the case wide open exposing the fraud and deception that Saab/GM is hoping never sees the light of day. Deleted emails, scathing notes written on napkins, and design plans hidden away in a dark, damp basement somewhere in Sweden - the very stuff that movies are made of. I wonder who will play the roll of the online skeptic, the one who simply doesn't believe. I hope Matt Damon is available to play my part.
