It may be that you have found a design defect that shows itself under certain conditions. And 50-100 people with similar issues is a reasonable number. But whether those people are actually evidence of a specific problem or design failure is what a court is going to want to determine before you are awarded any damages. That's where this kind of thing gets tricky and is what class-action suits are made of. All those folks will have to show how their cars have failed. And a court (or GM/Saab) will be looking for any signs of abuse. A slippery slope.
If this is a real problem, Saab/GM is no doubt aware of it, and it is entirely possible they have a "fix" in the works if one is justified. Or not. But if they do and it's not ready to be rolled out, they still won't do anything prior to the "fix" being approved by engineers and the lawyers.
