I'm gonna agree with everyone else on here, and add:

GVWR is the maximum amount the vehicle is capable of carrying without hurting it. That doesn't mean it will ride comfortably, or you will have two free coils on the rear springs. It means you can put x lbs in the car and do so safely.

Consider the opposite: My Suburban is a 3/4 ton with massive springs and dual shocks at each corner. It is absolutely terrible to drive to the grocery store. But throw five more people and their gear inside, and hook up our car trailer (tongue weight of about 800lbs) and the thing has an absolutely great ride!

You can't design a suspension system to handle every scenario. If it's nice to drive with a couple people, it's gonna suck when fully loaded. The opposite is true. The compromise is designed in, and every car is compromised in a different way. Some cars add fancy electronic or hydraulic controls to help deal with this scenario, Saab isn't one of them.

If the Saab isn't cutting it, get a new car. I may be misreading all the responses here, but I don't think anybody here is as surprised as you are on the results you're seeing.
