no biggie usually - you just cancel within 24hrs prior to your stay and there are no charges...

airlines will usually offer you a credit also, less a fee, maybe $50 depending what airline and their policies...

Unfortunate situation. That said, I don't even look at cars on ebay. TSN classifieds are probably the most knowledgeable sellers, but local sellers have been good also. Sure there are dud local sellers who don't know or take care of their cars, but there are others who are very knowledgeable, or others who are meticulous but rely on the dealer to fix every little thing (usually these are the best finds!). Selling locally might be more challenging depending on your locale, as many knowledgeable sellers I've spoken with had mainly only had responses from people who knew nothing about SAABs! That's the great thing about TSN: connects knowledgeable enthusiasts.
