So, I don't think I can answer all the questions as I don't have the time to lay out the overture. But, I can tell you that a fuel strategy for the LeMons race could be impacted by all the additional stops you would have to make using moonshine unless you add fuel capacity. Sometimes a faster race ends up being in a slower car.....Mark Donahue knew those ideals....
Now, there isn't any rocket science to this, it is bottle rocket science if at all. Stochiometric is your combustion target, so wide band O2 sensor with a good meter ( digital ) and a fuel injector computer like the Split Second ($341) and then put some larger injectors into the intercooler pipe.
Testing it for boost/rpm using the AFR meter and making a fuel map on the Split Second computer would bring safety to your engine to prevent it from becoming too lean. Make it fat to start and then put it on a diet.
Stand alone engine timing would be an advantage too as you have moonshine that is prone to helping prevent detonation. But, you can do the same thing with water injection....
I could run my car on E100 now if we changed the fuel map, but I don't have a still to make it, nor would that be feasible. Hard to justify going to the pump and putting 85% moonshine in it when it takes more overall to get it to the handle than it pushes the Landjet down the road. False economics 101.
Now, if you think I am wrong, OK, but think about it this way.....David Letterman's sponsor dropped out of Indy racing....guess who that was....yeah you were right...Ethanol.....good god, the FUEL sponsor for the Indy Racing League doesn't have a car sponsorship!!!! BUT Chavez's bank, CITGO is a sponsor for a Venezuelan driver. Now, go figure that...I wonder what AJ Foyt REALLY thinks from a time you could see Mobil, Pennzoil, the Standard Pegasus, Hudson Oil, and all the others that were once proud sponsors of the gofast crowd.
