We want your documentation that the Cooper methanol flight is a myth, because you said it is unquestionably a myth.
The snippet you found on the Internet is anonymous. While interesting, its accuracy is unknown. Since the snippet is not the basis of Blume's quotation of Bill Paynter (who got the story directly from his partner Cooper), it's not relevant.
While you sensibly object that 110 gallons of fuel added to a near empty tank is inadequate for a T-38 flight from Indy to Houston, you are the only person asserting a 110 gallon fuel budget. Paynter said a full tank.
Now that you mention it, the Indy cars in 1969 ran on methanol, didn't they? Wouldn't there have been a methanol supplier in town with a tank truck capable of bringing quantity to the track? Or maybe even a tank truck at the track? Maybe you can prove this never happened, but Cooper had means, motive and opportunity.
What's your beef, anyway? I asked for technical information about waste heat and engine efficiency and you go Ape about how undesirable ethanol is. Why?
