It might not be inherently bad but it is guaranteed to play out that way.

For one thing those controlling it won't be able to stop themselves from "monetizing" the potential wealth of constant data about you. As just one example, look at Onstar and the slipper slope they have headed well down. They had to back off a little but only in regard to "non-customers". It will only get worse.

Then there are a host of other issues. Interestingly just saw a number of articles today about printers in our connected world that play into this sort of thing.
