If you are looking for cash back, I would simply word it that way. When negotiating, you can ask for cash to cover closing costs, and sometimes settle on a deal to cover "undisclosed" repair work. Happens all the time.
Otherwise, you can try to deal with the brokers all you want. I'm sure some are willing to negotiate their fee, but would not be willing to give you money back on a commission that could be theirs.
