If you have already met the seller through their broker and not through your "buyer's" broker, the seller's broker has earned a full commission as per the listing agreement they signed with the seller. Seller's broker is paid at closing from proceeds, and they owe you nothing as you don't have privety of contract with them. The brokerage contract is between the seller and the listing broker. Bringing a buyers broker into the picture after the fact will be ignored at closing.
If you are a couple of grand apart, a broker could volunteer to forego part of their commission with the seller to make the deal happen, but is not obligated to do that.
Also, to have any right to collect a real estate broker's commission at closing, you would have to be a licensed broker, at least in most states.
Sounds like you have offer and acceptance, so its too late to adjust you offer for the value of the commission you are looking for.
Also, most listing brokers try to avoid buyers brokers in a strong market because they don't want to split their commission. All normal.
