yeah, it probably depends on the person... for me, I find both distracting, but the phone somewhat more so than talking to a person... maybe hands free would be comparable to a passenger, but fiddling with small buttons on a loose object while driving isn't for me... I'm ok listening to something (I find the radio actually helps my alertness), so I can listen to someone else, so long as I don't have to comment significantly... lets say, for me, the level of distraction is directly proportional to the amount of talking I have to do!
texting while driving, I can not imagine doing!
