If Anil agreed to the purchase, he agreed to the purchase. If he/(you) knew about changes to the Saab parts situation (which are not as sudden as they might sound on SU), then why did he agree to purchase?

The whole parts situation has been frustrating for all sides. I wouldn't view Chad's pricing as price gouging. He has to recover his costs to stay in business. As an independent saab mechanic, he is selling Anil a part he could put in someone's car locally, where he gets paid to install it. If he doesn't make profit, he'll be out of business. My indy also is spending a much higher % of his time sourcing parts. Time costs money!

To me, the change of availability at the local saab dealer is unfortunate timing, but if Chad and Anil had already made a transaction + proceeded to shipping, well, I think Anil just needs to chock that up to bad luck. I bought Koni shocks last fall because I needed them even though I know they always go on sale in the spring. I paid $100 more. Tough luck for me. That's life... supply + demand, not price gouging...
