The only legitimate complaint he has is that the price was quoted at $425 and then $450. If I were the seller I would honor the $425 price plain and simple. End of story at that point.
I used to own a 1994 Ford Taurus SHO. There was a module called a DIS that I had a hard time getting once but was able to find one. The dealer I bought it from in the mid-west said they were getting hard to find. I gambled and started buying used ones and even some new ones (single and had money back then) and sure enough they went on backorder and nobody had them. I tested the used ones on my SHO and made sure they worked.
Anyway, the SHO V-6 engine wouldn't run without a properly functioning DIS module. I would put them up one by one on ebay for a high buy it now price anywhere from $250 to $450 and sold every single one I had.
Buyers were THANKING me that I had the part that turned their car from a big pile of steel into a properly functioning car again.
I made A LOT of money and even sold a few to Ford dealers (even swapped some parts with a couple...no cash transaction).
We all know the Saab parts situation sucks right now and probably will for the short and long term future. Your car may be worth more parting out than selling...companies like Goldwing will do very well as long as people try to keep their Saabs on the road.
