It is utter and complete B.S. I don't get it either. There have been many times that I've purchased something and then saw it later elsewhere for a lower price. I just shrug it off as that's just part of life when you engage in trade. I also believe that arriving at an acceptable price for an item is 100% between the buyer and seller working within the principle of supply and demand. The State has no business involving itself in that process unless there is fraud involved.
Frankly if you had helped me to source a hard-to-find Saab part I would be more than happy to pay you for your time and effort in doing so as well as a fair profit on the part itself. What you charged seems completely reasonable to me.
