When your car breaks, you take a loss - it costs money to fix. You may not be pleased with how much a part costs, but what you have run into is pretty much normal. The variation in the labour to install that pump probably varies by $85 shop to shop... Many here have had to pay a little more for Saab parts in the past few months, and many pretty good suppliers (eg even eeuroparts) have struggled to deliver + satisfy customers. Many of us would be happy to pay a little more to get the part, or are industrious enough to go find one somewhere cheaper (eg junkyard). It sucks to seemingly overpay, but it happens some times, and it's best to just get over it.

I think the reason you are frustrated now is not the $85 profit (which imho is completely reasonable), but that you now own 2 of these + you are trying to blame Chad for this situation, when really it was a judgement call made on your end.

If I was you, I would sell the extra one on ebay (or put an ad in the classifieds here) and be done with it.
