Manifold absolute pressure sensor (431)
The MAP sensor has a similar function as in
earlier Trionic systems, but the MAP sensor has
been redesigned and now screws directly into
the intake manifold.
• Informs the control module of the pressure
after the throttle.
• Used to correct the air mass flow sensor's
value during fast changes in load.

During rapid load changes, the engine load or calculated are mass/combustion based on the mass air slow sensor value can differ from the actual air mass being taken into the cylinder during the induction stroke. This is due to the inertia of the large volume of are present in the intake system. The intake pressure is therefore used during load changes to correct the air mass/combution used in the basic calculation of the fuel quantity.

The pressue is also used to correct the purge PWM ratio. A greater PWM ratio is required at high instake pressures to obtain the same purge flow.

At normal atmopheric pressure, 100 kPa, the pressure from the sensor is approx. 2.1V.



So as you can see, T7 is a combo or mass air and pressure working together, just as in the Bosch ME7 system.
