That's pretty incredible!
You've sucessfully NOT READ the whole post string and completly re-stated everything that's already been covered. Good job buddy.
Response by paragraph:
1. I have real data, it is posted.
2. If you don't have anything to contribute other than to insult me, and repeat issues that have already been discussed (some directly between me and you, but you must have forgotten..) perhaps you need to control YOUR fingers, eh?
3. Never ever ever did I claim that Hardware parts alone would get even close to the amount of performance that can be had with proper hardware and software tuning. In fact, scroll down through to the bottom and read a little please. OF COURSE YOU NEED BOTH.
4. I never claimed to have any arugument to present except that, yes, Hardware parts can sometimes be added to a car without causing problems. My car is one expample of that. And yes, the car is safely making a little more power. Never did I say that it was making a crazy amount of more power, but gains have been realized. And no, actually, I haven't been hanging out at the Porche shop, although I would like to more often. German engineering is some of the best in the world.
5. BTW, dyno runs CAN be compared without EGT and timing monitoring. Yes, everything operates as a system and is related. But when considering the same car, on the same dyno, at the same shop, and that the temperature and humidity was actually worse for performance during the second run--and more RMS(!), and PEAK HP were produced across 3 runs--those factors are a pretty good indicator that the car is making more power overall. What is there not to understand there? A/F? how many A/F measurements would satisfy you? If the one at the dyno shop shows everything is okay, and the wide band setup installed in my car says the A/F is okay during ALL types of driving, then don't you think that the A/F is probably okay?
6. Like I've stated more than once that you apparently missed: I started adding hardware pieces to my car with EXPECTATION that I would run into peoblems at some point. Guess what? I never did. Is the car optimized? NO of course it isn't. What I'm trying to do is improve the VE before I spend the cash on custom software tuning. What's the problem with that? Do you forget that you made just about the exact same post the other day? Here was my response then:
"Actually you're incorrect again. My A/F is fine, and I know that's true because it's fine when on the dyno, and it's fine when I read my wideband gauge as I'm driving and it still fine when I look at the data log of that data after I park.
Look, I'm not saying it's optimal, but I am saying that I'm sure not hurting anything by doing things in the right order. And real gains have been made with hardware-only mods.
Has no one else on here not swallowed the whole "you absolutely can't hardware tune anything without software tuning for T7" baloney?
Hardware mods offer the best bang for the buck and enable software tuning--because hardware mods will decrease operating temperatures and increase overall VE while software only mods by nature can only do the opposite--directly decreasing the service life of your engine. In fact, it is hardware mods that enables reliable software tuning.
Eventually and at some level you need both though. All I'm saying is that I've had very very good success by doing the hardware first." So why ask the same questions again?
7. Your english is very good, just like Vigge's is good as well. But when someone starts making broad all encompassing statements about what will and what can't possibly work in regards to a very complex controls system that they have only a "black box" type understanding-of, they better be able to back-up their statements in a logical and reasonable manner. Further, if you remember correctly, it was Vigge himself who introduced language problems into the conversation in order to insult me. There are people who understand T7. I'm not one of them and I don't pretend to be. Vigge is not one of them. Because of that, NEITHER OF US are qualified to make the type of statments that Vigge made. So what is your problem with that?
And for goodness sakes, if you're going to chastise me for "insulting" Vigge, which I didn't--you shouldn't insult me in the very same post should you?
Again, what is the real problem here? What in the world is your point? What is so important to you about the discussion that would cause you to post nearly the exact same statements that have already been addressed? EVERYTHING IN YOUR POST ABOVE HAS ALREADY BEEN ADDRESSED, MOST OF IT MULTIPLE TIMES.
Could it be that I'm simply on the wrong side of the Atlantic for your taste in engineers?
Since you must have missed it before, so here is a repeat of a 3 second (or so) 30-60 mph O2 and rpm run.
Since you're so keen on the performance of my car, what length of time does a stock 9-3 SE take to do 30-60 mph in second gear?
