Dear Drew. What comes to T5 and T7 knowledge, you should try to learn swedish. Language issue is not the main point here, though.
I think that you presented some personal insults against Vigge. If you do not have any real arguments ( = data ) for your claims, just try to control your fingers before using them.
What comes to T7 expertise, I've noticed, that some companies really know what they are doing with these cars... It's very good, because reliable T7 car tuning is not an easy job. It's nice to note however, that several serious T7 tuning companies - like Hirsch, Nordic and Maptun - have not understand, how easy it is to put some extra power out of these cars. Just by changing some HW parts.
Drew, I think that in real life you have very little understanding of these issues. You have no real arguments to present. I think you've been hanging aroung on prosche tuning shops, trying to remember something what 'big boys' have told, like: making your engine to breathe better is the only way to make some serious power. While it's true, you've have not understand the nature of your saab architecture. Trionic 7 is very sophisticated EMS, but to 'outsiders' ( like MP Performance etc. ) it's very difficult to one to cope with.
By modifying SW and HW simultaneously, one can make some serious bhp:s with total reliability and drivability. If one can not cope with it, it's better to leave it alone. Drew, IMHO you have not presented any power gains at all outside error margins. Your final speed for a quarter mile is very good indicator of real power, and it is just too low for 280bhp ( at crank ). Even some swede ( girl ) has been driven a lot better ( 104mph or something like that ) with 9-3 / 260bhp. Your original dyno sheet was driven on 3:rd gear ( speeds ), which is not reliable at all. And finally, your STD CAR was measured up to 224 WHP. This tells us, that there was something wrong, because this equals something like 250 crank BHP, which is a little bit more for your stock 9-3.
BTW, if one wants to interprete T7 dyno runs, A/F ratio is not enough at all. EGT and ignition timing must be measured as well. Especially if one gets worse A/F results compared to stock.
You've put a lot of money on your HW. This gave you something like 12bhp more peakpower. IMHO this is very poor bang for the buck ratio here. By bying modied stage 1 T7 unit, you would get much more power over the whole rev range ( and three times more peak power ) for much less money and with better reliability. I'm just saying, that this ( = downpipe way ) is not the best way to put some extra umphhh to your saab. If someone has taught you so, they do not know what they saying.
IMHO Vigge has offered lots of useful information on this board. No personal insults, though. Hopefully my english is fluent enough...
