its the best we have and it does cover your example above. Basically my point is that your inital note appeared to indicate that this was just an issue with T7's when in fact ALL engine management systems will run into this (T5, ME7, LH2.2, CIS-Motronic, Motronic, etc etc). These engine management systems will handle HW changes (filter, exhaust, intake pipes, etc)up to a certain point...its when you get into things like headwork, larger injectors/fuel pressure, nitrous, larger turbos, etc where I agree with you that a SW update is required. True a SW upgrade should be done every stage of the way....is it abosultly necesary...NO...these systems are made to handle variations.
