and I have written PID control loops for complex mechanical systems in the past, although not engines.
I can understand that extensive modification of air and exhaust stream components could cause the mass air flow to extend into a range not accurately measured by the air mass meter, (or included in the T7's algorithms), but I am having trouble with your claim that ANY modification will cause this problem.
Please explain how the following factors don't cause the afore mentioned problem, but any hardware change will:
1) Installation of Saab's own Saab/Remus performance exhaust.
2) Variations in air flow between a clean and dirty engine air filter?
3) Variations caused by the original catalytic converters becoming partially obstructed with vehicle age/mileage?
Thank you. Your postings are very informative and thought provoking.
