Vern has a good point -- and if the clutch cover has been off the car, there is a chance it was indexed a bit upon installation. Measuring timing off a secondary plastic object to me is a potential downfall in accurate timing.
Also, I was wondering if the flywheel was stock, or is a fancy shamancy 9000 flywheel? The degree numbers have to be reset on the 9000 flywheel.
Also, look at your timing light image on the flywheel mark, is it rock solid, or does the timing image on the flywheel flicker back forwards and backwards??? In other words, solid or variable.
