Genuine Saab has the parts to take your 185hp 9-5 wagon to close to 300hp with ecu, intake, sparkplugs, and exhaust for around $1,000. Where can you find a 300hp wagon for the price? You'd have to go CUV and they would be $50K.
As long as you use premium fuel your fuel economy should increase some. I picked up an 04 9-5 Arc wagon with 180K miles and did similar. Changed the transmission fluid and it had no problem towing two cars for an hour each way.
I did the same thing to my 2000 Aero back in the day with Nordic Stage lll. It actually kept up with a 400hp BMW M5 from 100-130mph.
Do the updates for performance and maintenence, put a coat of fresh wax on it and enjoy the ride.
