Well, we currently carry around 10 - 20 gallons of volatile, explosive hydrocarbons in the back of our cars...........

I can also foresee an effect on the electrical grid at 6:00pm much like the effect on our water supply systems at halftime during the Superbowl ;) . But there is a staggered charging solution already available, something similar to what our power company can do to stagger operation of your home A/C compressor during peak demand periods on hot days in the summer by remote control - electric power lines can carry signal information by modulating it up to a high enough frequency.

The current design of capacitors and most batteries is pretty ancient - think Michael Faraday. Creating a new graphene-based design to replace rare metals with deposited carbon is intriguing.
