9-3, and the involvement of GM in Saab. Now that I have had my 2000 9-3
for about a month, and 1900 miles, I wanted to put my 2 cents in. My
previous car was an '88 9000T, which was a fantastic automobile, and as one
poster said, I simply lost interest in repairing it when the time came for
a transmission rebuild (190k miles, original clutch, no complaints).

Everything seems to be of excellent quality. Nothing squeaks. When I took
delivery of the car, I went over the car looking for problems.

this may be attributable to the increased leverage that Saab has with its
suppliers, because of the GM connection. We will see how it goes in the
long run.

with about 1/3 of the noise. Not quite as much of a rush in 1st gear
(longer gearing), but overall the engine is much torqueyer (sp?). It
handles just as well, although the body rolls a tad more. And there is
just no comparison in ride quality. The best part is, under the lease deal
I have (there is some advantage to negotiating on Jan. 30th), I am driving
the car effectively interest free for the next three years. Yikes, if this
is the General's influence, I'll take it.

fair. They are the usual all season nonsense, full of the inherent
compromises in those designs. While, they work pretty well in the wet and
snow, their dry grip leaves something to be desired. Given the mildness of
the winters we have been having, I am inclined to use them as my 'snow'
tires, and get a proper set of tires for the spring/summer/fall.
