My beloved 84 900S finally let me down.  I got 3 miles from work when I
noticed a miss when giving gas.  Over the next 3 miles things got worse
and had to pull over.  Then the car would idle only.  I shut it off and
called for the flatbed.

This morning I checked for any fuel pressure at filter inlet - none.  So
I pulled the fuel pump assembly, and (dry) bench checked both pumps. The
main pump was slow to get going but after a second or two 'sounded' good.
 I then checked the other pump, it sounded Ok.  I then put the assembly
back on the car and checked pressure at the filter again and now gas
spewing all over.  Turned the car over and after a few seconds started,
sputtered a little then I drove off.  Drove fine for a block or two then
started missing again.

A Saab/Volvo independent recommends replacing both pumps.  I really hate
throwing parts at a problem, but a local junk yard will sell the whole
assembly for $40, which I might do unless someone can recommend other
possible sources.

Any advice would be much appreciated for this super car.
