Sorry about your troubles Richard, but we've got a '97 900 SET, going
in for it's 90k mile oil change today, and it's been a dream car.
Reliable, safe, and major league fun. No rattles, no major problems
except a head gasket (replaced for free). I wouldn't be surprised if
we get way over 200k out of this car, and we're looking at a wagon
now, as our family is growing, and I have no doubt that a Saab wagon
is likely one of the safest cars on the road in its price range. Have
you talked with your dealer about the rattles? Our dealer (Dean Hill
in Claremont, NH) has been more than helpful with answering questions
and accomodating our schedules. Hope you have beter luck in the
future, but I wouldn't let your experience with that one particular
car speak for the make in general.
