Graphite?! What graphite?! Last time I checked, MTL was a dark clear red,
with no sign of graphite particles suspended in it. Perhaps these Japanese
car owners were just mistaking the pieces of their transmissions in the
MTL?:-)

I've been using it in my 900 for around TEN years now. Other than some
chips stuck to my drain plug (probably from grinding into Reverse too
impatiently) the original tranny has still never been opened up (153k miles,
knock on wood).

I can't say my experiences should dissuade you, however some of that
notchiness is inherent to the beast. Smoother gearboxes is something I wish
Saab could pick up from the Japanese.
