I have installed two hands-free cell phone adapters in my 9-5. First was
for an Ericcson phone, later for Nokia 6160, using kit referred to as
CARK-91H-AWS. Installation is not difficult. You will need to buy the
pigtail adapter and the plastic phone mount from Saab parts, total cost
likely less than $100.00. The pigtail plugs into a prewired socket
located behind the ashtray in the center console. I used the microphone
that came with the hands-free adapter since it seems to have less echo
than with the built in mic. The mic is installed just to the left of the
center console above the windscreen. You will need to buy an external
antenna and install that on the upper right of the windscreen, do not
install on the rear glass. Wiring color codes are reasonably well
explained in the literature. You may find that your local cell phone
salesa outlet knows of a technician specializing in doing this type of
work. The Nokia hands free adapter is available with an additional
handset. This can be mounted on the dash just to the left of the center
radio stack using thick, double sided, 3M foam tape. In difficult signal
or noise areas you can pull the handset from its holder and use it for
private communication. Returning the handset to the holder will shut off
the phone. The phone adapter includes a muting signal for the car's
audio, automatically muting the audio when a call is made or received.
Hope this helps.
