TCS Retrofit

Thanks to Stephen Goldberger on the great description on how drive-by-wire
throttle works. Certainly pulling the black 'beauty panel' off the top of
the engine shows a much cleaner setup on the throttle body of the 2000 9-3
compared to all earlier NG 900 and even the 1999 9-3. The 2000 is a NLEV
engine and I'm sure the precise throttle control helps.

BUT, back to my original question. Given that the cruise and the throttle
are so nicely integrated on the throttle body and that the car has
multichannel ABS, surely Saab could have included the fuse and the
associated software to ensure that TCS was standard (with a switch of
course !) on these cars. Obviously no new hardware is required, just an
EPROM or something. Global warming may be a reality, but many of us still
drive on snow in the winter and let me tell you, 195/65R15 Yokohamas or
Hakkas don't take kindly to even moderate throttle in these conditions.
Their sidewalls windup like dragsters on dry pavement and they do actually
spin in snow. The 9-5 has TCS doesn't it ?

Any ideas how TCS might be retrofit ?
